Admission Requirements
What you need
to qualify.
Requirements vary by institution, but these four areas decide every application.
Academic
+2 or A-Levels for bachelor entry; a recognised bachelor degree for master’s programs, with subject alignment mattering more than in other systems.
Entrance selection
Most English-taught programs select through an entrance exam or written assignment rather than grades alone — preparation is what decides admission.
English
IELTS 6.0–6.5 or equivalent. Some programs accept alternative evidence of English-medium instruction.
Financial
Evidence of EUR 800 per month available for the permit period, held in your own account.

Start eight to ten months before your intended intake. Applications filed late in a cycle face fewer places, tighter scholarship budgets and slower visa processing.

Residence permit application
Filed online through Enter Finland with proof of funds and insurance, followed by an appointment at the visa centre.

Tuition fee scholarships
